The present petition has been filed by the petitioners to seek protection on account of marriage, having been solemnized on 25.08.2020. Both the petitioners are stated to be major and in support of their age, copies of matriculation certificates have been annexed. However, the fact of their marriage is not acceptable to respondents No.4 to 7, who are parents as well as brother and sister-in-law of petitioner No.1-Twinkle Sharma, as it is an inter-caste marriage and now, they are extending threats to the lives of the petitioners. Even, the petitioners have approached respondents No.2 and 3 by way of representation for protection of their life and liberty. In view of the same, the present petition is disposed of with direction to respondent Nos.2 and 3 to look into the matter, and if they find that there is genuine apprehension of danger to the lives and personal liberty of the petitioners, then they are directed to take appropriate steps to ensure their protection in the fitness of the circumstances. However, these observations of mine are circumscribed, only for the purposes of disposal of the present petition and without prejudice to the rights of the parties, to be adjudicated qua the question of age or validity of marriage or any other civil or criminal proceedings initiated qua the said matrimonial alliance.
