The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent No. 3 to re-issue him passport.

The petitioner, on earlier occasion, was issued passport on 04.06.2012 which expired on 03.06.2022. An FIR No. 0027 dated 11.05.2017, under Section 7C of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 and Sections 420, 120-B, 465, 467, 471, 427 of IPC, was registered at Police Station Kuhian Sarwar, District Fazilka in which his name appeared PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2024.05.21 05:37 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP No.11962 of 2024 -2at a later stage. He applied for re-issuance of passport vide application dated 07.10.2023.

Notice of motion.

Mr. Himanshu Malik, Advocate for Mr. Ashutosh Dhankar, Advocate and Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab, who on advance notice are present in Court, accept notice and waive service. 5.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that police till date has not filed its report in the afore-stated FIR. The petitioner filed CRM-M-30123 of 2018 before this Court seeking setting aside of aforesaid FIR. This Court vide order dated 19.07.2018 stayed filing of challan against him 6.

Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab concedes to the statement of counsel for petitioner.

Faced with this, Mr. Himanshu Malik, Advocate, submits that passport authority would decide application of the petitioner expeditiously, in accordance with law.

Counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement. 9.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of.
