(ORAL) The petitioners have preferred this writ petition for the issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to give joining to the petitioners on the post of TGT English.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners possess requisite qualification of diploma in education. The nomenclature of the aforesaid diploma has been changed to diploma in elementary education only in the year 2014. There is no change in the basic nomenclature of the diploma which has been possessed by the petitioners and that of diploma in elementary education. National Council for Teachers Education has already recognized the diploma POONAM BHATT 2023.05.30 16:57 I attest the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

2023:PHHC:078800 CWP No.11949 of 2023 -2possessed by the petitioners. The elementary teacher education programme carries different nomenclatures such as BTC, JBT, D.ed. and diploma in education. Nomenclature of the programme shall be the same across all the states and this has been recognized by the National Council for Teachers Education. Precisely for the claim in question, the petitioners have preferred this writ petition.

At this stage, Mr. Naveen Singh Panwar, DAG, Haryana Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. Before appreciating the controversy herein it would be desirable to treat this writ petition as a representation and call upon the respondent No.2 to take note of this writ petition at the first instance and pass an appropriate order in accordance with law preferably within a period of one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
