The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents No. 1 and 2 to issue her passport.

The petitioner applied for passport alongwith requisite documents. The application seeking passport was filed on 14.03.2023 which, till date, is pending.

Mr. Sunny Kumar Singla, Advocate submits that no criminal case is pending against the petitioner. She is citizen of India, thus, there is no reason to deny her passport.

Mr. Hemant Hans, Central Government Counsel for Union of India and Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab, who on advance notice, are present in Court, accept notice and waive service.

With the consent of both sides, the petition is taken up for final disposal today itself.

Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab submits that as per his instructions, the jurisdictional authority has recommended to issue passport to the petitioner. There is no reason to doubt her credentials. 8.

In the wake of statement of Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab, Mr. Hemant Hans, Central Government Counsel submits that competent authority would consider application of the petitioner and pass an appropriate order, in accordance with law, within eight weeks from today. 9.

Counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement. 10.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of.
