(Oral) The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for issuance of direction to respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the lives and liberty of the petitioners as they have solemnized marriage contrary to the wishes of private respondents and are apprehending threat at their instance. Petitioners, in person, are present in the Court. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have also moved a representation (Annexure P-4) dated 27.11.2018 to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural) Punjab, for protection but no action has been taken thereupon.
Notice of motion.
On asking of the Court, notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3 State has been accepted by Ms. Samina Dhir, DAG, Punjab. Keeping in view the submission made by learned counsel for the petitioners, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar Rural to consider the representation (Annexure P-4) moved by the petitioners and NEETU RANI 2018.12.01 10:37 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document High Court Chandigarh
Criminal Misc. No. M-52746 of 2018 take necessary action in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order after hearing the petitioners as well as private respondents. In case, respondent No.2 comes to the conclusion that there is any serious threat to the petitioners, the necessary action be taken to ensure their protection. Disposed of accordingly.
