(ORAL) The petitioners have approached this Court under Articles 226/ 227 of Constitution of India, seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the official respondents to protect their life and liberty as they apprehend threat at the hands of private respondents. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that both the petitioners are brother and sister. Rajwinder Singh is also their brother. Their parents have expired. He contends that five years ago, one room was given on rent to respondent No.5-Kiran Bala by their brother Rajwinder Singh. Respondent No.5, along with her two children, started residing in the rented premises. After some time, respondents No.6 to 9 also started living there and upon asking, respondent No.5- Kiran Bala told him that respondents No.6 to 9 are her brothers and sisters and they have come to stay with her only for few days. Later on brother of the petitioners namely Rajwinder Singh, came to SONU 2020.09.04 09:30 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

know that said Kiran Bala, in connivance with others, has got his name incorporated in her Aadhar Card as her husband. When Rajwinder Singh told Kiran Bala to get the same corrected, she demanded Rs.15 lakhs and further threatened that in case he will not pay the amount, she with the help of private respondents, will kill him. Upon this, Rajwinder Singh filed a complaint with the SSP, Sri Muktsar Sahib, but no action has been taken so far. 3.

In these circumstances, the petitioners also submitted a representation dated 27.06.2020 (Annexure P-1) to SHO, Police Station City Sri Muktsar Sahib, but the same has not been adverted till date. Hence, the petition.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioners, I am of the opinion that the entire dispute, prima facie, seems to be civil in nature. No ground for interference by this Court, in extra ordinary constitutional jurisdiction, is made out. The petition stands dismissed accordingly. However, the petitioners are at liberty to pursue their representation dated 27.06.2020 (Annexure P-1) with the competent authority.
