RAMENDRA JAIN, J. (ORAL) Through this petition under Section 439 Cr.P.C., petitionerMandeep Singh @ Manpreet Singh, has prayed for grant of regular bail in case FIR No. 80 dated 19.08.2017 registered under Section 302 IPC (but challan is presented under Section 304 read with Section 34 IPC) at Police Station Rangar Nangal, Police District Batala, District Gurdaspur. According to the prosecution, petitioner murdered the son of complainant, namely; Jatinder Pal Singh in the morning of 17.08.2018. Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that the petitioner has falsely been implicated in the instant case. Deceased was a drug addict and died due to overdose. Petitioner is in custody since 21.08.2018. Conclusion of trial may take long time. No useful purpose would be served by detaining him in jail.
