The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue him passport with correct mother's name.

The petitioner was issued passport on 03.01.2017 which is valid upto 02.01.2027. His mother's name in the passport is recorded as 'Gurcharn Kaur' whereas her correct name is 'Darshanpal Kaur'. 3.

Mr. Chirag Suri, Advocate submits that petitioner has filed application seeking re-issuance of passport with correct mother's name. He has also filed representation dated 29.04.2024 (Annexure P-12) before passport authority but to no avail.
