'$$()* Heard learned counsel for the petitioner. The petitioner has applied for grant of interim bail for a period of 10 days in case FIR No. 50 dated 03.04.2013 under section 18/21/22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and 25 of the Arms Act, 1959 and 489 of the Indian Penal Code registered at Police Station Urban Estate, Patiala, Punjab.
The ground for claiming interim bail by the petitioner is the death of his father and to perform the last rites. From the documents and evidence produced on record, we are satisfied that indeed the father of the petitioner expired and he is required to attend the last ceremonies.
We, therefore, allow the petition for grant of interim bail and release the petitioner on interim bail for a period of 10 days subject to furnishing requisite bail bonds/surety bonds to the satisfaction of Chief Judicial Magistrate/Duty Magistrate, Patiala. The applicant:petitioner shall surrender his passport, if any, with the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate/Duty Magistrate, if he possesses the same. The order for grant of interim bail to the petitioner shall be effective from 04.12.2018. With these observations, the petition stands disposed of.
