The present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus for release of Gurlal Singh, s/o Sikandar Singh r/o Village Thandewala District Sri Mukatsar Sahib.

In compliance of order dated 29.04.2025 passed by this Court, reply by way of affidavit of Harbans Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent Of Police, City-1, Bathinda on behalf of the respondent-State has been filed which is taken on record.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the reply so filed.

As per reply, the petitioner was admitted in the Institution namely, Better Life Foundation-respondent No.4 on 09.12.2024 for treatment on account of his habit of consuming greater quantity of liquor, however, later on, the alleged Sonia Puri 2025.05.16 18:51 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document detenue left the Institution on 09.02.2025 in the company of his father-Sikandar

Singh and has now been living with his parents, wife and child. It is further stated that the said Institution did not forcibly keep him there. 5.

In view of above, no further order is required to be passed in the present petition and the present petition is hereby disposed of, with aforesaid observations.
