Pursuant to order dated September 27, 2017, Ms. Vimmi Bhullar, Joint Secretary, Government of Punjab, Department of Local Government is present in court. Learned State counsel seeks to place on record her affidavit. Prayer is accepted. Affidavit is taken on record. Referring to same, Mr. Sethi, submits that in terms of agreement, Annexure P2, Clause 2(b) thereof, contract with the petitioner would expire on 17.10.2017 and petitioner would be allowed to continue till then. In view of above, Mr. Atma Ram, learned senior counsel submits that he may be given liberty to seek alternative remedy in terms of order dated 08.05.2017 for grant of any claim/relief which may subsist. Liberty is granted which may be availed as per law. This petition is, thus, disposed of. It, however, appears that earlier a statement was made on behalf of the Corporation that the contract Ajay Kumar 2017.10.07 15:28 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document would subsist only till 17.07.2017. From the affidavit filed by the

CWP No. 14341 of 2011 Department of Local Government, it is clear that this statement was made on behalf of the Corporation without referring to the contract/agreement. This court hopes and trusts that affairs of the Corporation are closely monitored by Local Government Department in future to ensure that incorrect statements are not made before this court, as has happened in the instant case.
