Prayer in this writ petition filed by the petitioner under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing respondent No.4, to immediately release all the retiral and pensionary benefits to the petitioner along with interest. Further prayer has been made to issue direction to respondent No.4, to decide the representation (Annexure P-3), filed by the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, at the very outset, confines his prayer for deciding representation dated 25.04.2024 (Annexure P-3). He submits that at this stage, petitioner would be satisfied, if the said representation is decided by passing a speaking order within a time bound frame.

Mr. Surya Kumar, AAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3. On the asking of the Court Mr. Vipul Jindal, Advocate, who is on the panel of Department of Local Government, Punjab, has accepted notice on behalf of respondent No.4 and have no objection to the innocuous prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the record of the case.

Without going into the merits of the case at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4, to decide representation dated 25.04.2024 (Annexure P-3), expeditiously submitted by the petitioner by passing a speaking order, preferably within a period of 03 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
