Versus

State of Punjab and others .....Respondents

CORAM:

HON'BLE MRS. JUSTICE MANJARI NEHRU KAUL

Present:

None for the petitioner.

Mr. Amit Rana, Senior Deputy Advocate General, Punjab. MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (ORAL) Instant petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondents. 2.

Learned State counsel, on instructions, has submitted that a criminal case stands registered against petitioner No.1 at the instance of father of petitioner No.2, under Sections 363, 366-A and 120-B of the IPC.

3.

In the circumstances, this Court would not be inclined to issue directions as prayed for. It also needs to be observed that on the last date of hearing i.e. 22.05.2024, a pointed query was put to the learned counsel for the petitioner as to whether any criminal case stood registered against petitioner No.1, to which he had categorically replied in the negative.

4.

The instant petition stands dismissed.
