**** MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (Oral) This order shall dispose of CRM-M-25658-2020 and CRM-M27206-2020, as they arise out of the same FIR No. 108, dated 04.08.2020. These petitions have been filed under Section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioners in case FIR No. 108, dated 04.08.2020, under Section 61 of the Punjab Excise Act and under Section 420 IPC, registered at Police Station Sidhwan Bet, Ludhiana. Learned counsel for the petitioners has reiterated his submissions made at the time of issuance of notice of motion to the effect that it is a case of false implication and it cannot be digested that an 18 years (petitioner - Manjit JAWALA RAM 2021.01.13 14:03 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh

Per contra, learned State counsel while opposing the prayer and submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioners, on instructions from ASI Sukhmander Singh, has apprised the Court that both the petitioners were not only named in the secret information received by the investigating agency, but a huge recovery of 1,30,000 kgs. of 'lahan' was effected when the raiding party raided the premises at the house of petitioner - Manjit Singh @ Biti. Besides the recovery of 1,30,000 kgs. of 'lahan', there was a working still and other instruments used for illicit distilling also recovered from the spot. Heard.

Prima facie, there are serious allegations levelled against the petitioners in the FIR in question and looking to their criminal antecedents, they do not deserve the concession of regular bail. Petitions stand dismissed accordingly.
