Petitioner seeks issuance of appropriate writ, order or direction against the respondent to release actual payment of Rs.23,471/- along with interest @ 18% from due date of accrual of interest till date for final realization of the amount. Petitioner claims that he is 75 years of age and is a senior citizen. He retired from Education Department on 31.05.2004. Petitioner was drawing his pension from PNB, Hoshiarpur against PPO No.167815/Pb. When an employee of the Bank advised the petitioner in the month of December, 2015 that he should contribute some amount in PNB Met Life account JYOTI SHARMA 2021.10.12 10:17 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP No. 15280 of 2021 -2of the bank and by doing so, his contribution would be doubled in five years. Petitioner followed the advice of the employee namely Smt. Ranjana and started contributing Rs.30,000/- annually in the aforesaid account. The first contribution started w.e.f. 31.01.2016 and till 23.01.2021, petitioner had contributed total amount of Rs.1,80,000/- in the aforesaid account of the Bank. After six years, the petitioner applied for withdrawal of the said amount which was deducted by the Bank in PNB Met Life Account. The Bank only paid an amount of Rs.1 lac on 16.02.2021 and thereafter, sent an amount of Rs.50,529/- on 01.02.2021. The difference of the amount with interest has not been paid to the petitioner so far despite his legal notice dated 23.03.2021 issued to the Bank.

In view of nature of order which this Court proposes to pass, there is no necessity of calling upon response from the respondents at this stage, as no order prejudicial to the interest of any party is being passed.
