FATEH DEEP SINGH, J. (Oral) The matter has been taken up through video-conferencing on account of outbreak of pandemic COVID19. The petitioner has come up in this civil writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a prayer by way of writ by directing the respondents to grant interest @ 18% from the date of accrual till date of payment of arrear of pension and other retiral benefits, for which, a legal notice dated 04.03.2021 (Annexure P-1) has also been served upon the respondent authorities.

At the asking of the Court Ms. Simran Grewal, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents No. 1 and 2. Let copy of the paper book be supplied to her.
In the light of oral submissions of the petitioner side the directions are issued to the respondent authorities to duly consider the legal notice dated 04.03.2021 (Annexure P-1) as representation of the petitioner and decide the same in accordance with law by passing a speaking order, preferably, within a period of one month from the date of passing of this order.
