Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that against the order dated 06.12.2023 (Annexure P-12) passed by the authorities envisaged under the Maintenance & Welfare of Parents & Senior Citizen Act, 2007 (for short 2007 Act), both the parties have filed appeals and the appellate authority while passing the impugned order dated 12.03.2024 (Annexure P-15) has stayed the operation of the order dated 06.12.2023 (Annexure P-12 which is under challenge at the hands of both the parties. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that as the petitioner is senior citizen and after passing the impugned order dated 12.03.2024 (Annexure P-15), no proceedings have been undertaken so far by the appellate authority, hence, the petitioner will be satisfied, at this stage, in case a direction is issued to the appellate authority to decide the said appeal in a time bound manner so that the petitioner does not suffer RIYA 2025.05.02 11:00 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Without expressing any opinion on merit and as the senior citizen is involved in the litigation, the Appellate Authority is directed to decide the appeal filed by the parties as expeditiously as possible preferably within four months from the next date of hearing fixed before the appellate Authority, by adopting the process so as to give due opportunity to both the parties to present their respective views qua the order dated 06.12.2023 (Annexure P-12).
