(ORAL) In the present writ petition, the grievance which is being raised by the petitioner is that he retired as Superintending Engineer on 31.10.2016 and after his retirement, the benefits of leave encashment and provident fund were paid in February/March, 2017 and the provisional pension was released to him in May, 2017 and the gratuity amounting of `10,00,000/- was released to him in November, 2017, but still the full amount of provident fund has not been released and further, for the delay in release of the pensionary benefits, petitioner is entitled for interest keeping in view the law laid down by this Court in A.S. Randhawa Vs. State of Punjab and others, 1997(3) SCT 468.

CWP-14488-2019 -2respondents with a legal notice dated 09.07.2018 (Annexure P-1), which is still pending consideration with the respondents and the petitioner will be satisfied, at this stage, in case a time bound direction is issued to the respondents to decide the said legal notice.
In view of the request made, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioner, the respondents are directed to decide the legal notice dated 09.07.2018 (Annexure P-1) by passing a speaking order within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. In case after the decision, it is found that the petitioner is entitled for any monetary benefit, the same shall also be released to him within a period of next three months.
Present writ petition stands disposed of.
