(ORAL) The grievance of the petitioner is in regard to short period of 10 days for which the portal is opened for online applications to fill up the 25% quota reserved for children of backward class parents in terms of Section 12(1)(C) of Right to Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009. 2.
The petitioner also annexed Punjab Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2011, wherein Rule 10 provides as under:-
10. Extended period for admission (Sections 15 and 38)-
(1) Extended period of admission shall generally be four months from the date of commencement of the academic year of a school. However, no child shall be denied admission to a school at any point of time during an academic year: Provided that the procedure specified in these rules, for admission of a child shall be followed.

CWP-PIL-106-2026 -2him or her special training, as may be deemed appropriate by the School Management committee in consultation with the Local Authority.

Learned Counsel for State of Punjab also drawn our attention to Note 2 of Public Notice (Annexure P/3) which informs the members of general public that another round of allocation of seats may be undertaken, if required.

Note 2 of Public Notice (Annexure P/3) obviously means that if quota of 25% remains unfilled then another round of allocation of seats may takes place to fill up the deficiency during this very academic year. 5.
For the time being, we do not see any cause of concern to the petitioner. However, petitioner is free to revisit this Court in case his grievance is not redressed.

Present Civil Writ Petition is disposed of.
