The petitioner through the instant petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is seeking protection of his life and liberty at the hands of persons nominated in the FIR No. 0076 dated 26.06.2021, under Sections 452, 323, 354, 295, 506 and 34 of IPC, registered at Police Station Jhabal, District Tarn Taran.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that police after completing investigation, has prepared cancellation report in the aforestated FIR and persons nominated therein have started harassing the petitioner and his family after knowing fact of filing of cancellation report by investigating officer. They are threatening the petitioner and his family. Apprehending attack, the petitioner has filed representation dated 18.05.2023 before Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran.

Learned State counsel, who on advance notice is present in Court, submits that jurisdictional police authorities would look into representation of the petition.

It is duty of State to protect life and liberty of its citizen. 5.
In view of statement of learned State counsel, this Court is sanguine of the fact that jurisdictional police authorities would look into representation of the petitioner and do the needful, in accordance with law, if any substance is found therein.
