Mr. D.N.Ganeriwala, Advocate for respondent No. 2. **** ANITA CHAUDHRY, J This is a petition filed by the brother-in-law (devar) seeking quashing of FIR No. 50 dated 27.4.2016 registered under Sections 406, 498A, 120-B IPC, Police Station (Women) Patiala, District Patiala (Annexure P-1) and all the consequent proceedings arising out of the same. The petitioner had pleaded that he was living in Australia along with his wife since 2009 and he had wrongly been named. State counsel informs that the petitioner is not wanted in this FIR.
In view of this position, the petition becomes infructuous. Dismissed as infructuous.
In case the petitioner is required by the police, they would send advance notice to him at the address indicated in the title as he is a resident of Australia.
