(Oral) Prayer in this petition is for quashing of FIR No. 4 dated 03.08.2013 registered under Section 498A IPC at Police Station Women Cell, Zirakpur along with consequential proceedings arising therefrom on the basis of a compromise dated 27.04.2015 (Annexure P-2). It is stated that a petition under Section 13-B of Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 has been filed. Statements of the parties at first motion have been recorded on 19.10.2016. On notice, complainant has put in appearance and has tendered the affidavit in the Court today and the same is taken on record as Annexure A-1. As per affidavit, the matter has been compromised between the parties with the intervention of respectables. The complainant has no objection if the F.I.

R be quashed against the present petitioner. The compromise is without any pressure, force and coercion from any side. Consequently, in view of the affidavit dated 05.04.2017 and in view of the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Dr. Arvind Barsaul etc. versus State of Madhya Pradesh and another 2008(2) GAURAV ARORA 2017.04.

Crl. Misc. No. M-7908 of 2017 RCR (Criminal) 910, no useful purpose would be served in prolonging the litigation.

Accordingly, FIR No. 4 dated 03.08.2013 registered under Section 498A IPC at Police Station Women Cell, Zirakpur, is quashed along with all consequential proceedings arising therefrom qua petitioner. The petition stands disposed of.
