(ORAL) Learned counsel for the petitioner is confining his prayer in this petition to the consideration of his representation for according him deemed date of promotion at par with his juniors namely Vijay Goel and Vivek Singh Gill.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that Vijay Goel had been granted promotion as Municipal Engineer (equivalent to Assistant Engineer) w.e.f 31.01.2007 erroneously by misinterpreting the judgment of the Supreme Court in the case of Orisa Lift Irrigation Corporation Limited Vs. Rabi Shankar Patro , 2018 (2) SCC 298 although actual promotion had been given w.e.f. 2009. It was later clarified by the Supreme Court that the directions were meant to protect the benefits which had already been granted and not to grant benefits in future. He also submits that he shall be filing a comprehensive representation to respondent No.1 and prays that the petition may be disposed of with a direction to respondent No.1 to consider and decide the same.
