Instant petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to grant the statutory pay scale to the petitioners as per the Punjab Civil Services (Revised Pay) First Amendment, Rules, 2009 (Annexure P-3) i.e. Rs.5910-20200+Grade Pay Rs.2000/- lateron increased to Rs.10300-34800+Grade Pay of Rs.3200/- from entry into service along arrears at interest rate of 12% thereon, in view of judgment dated 13.09.2024, passed by this Court in CWP-15896 of 2023 - Saurabh Sharma and others v. State of Punjab and others. Further prayer has been made for directing the respondents to take into account the statutory pay scale of Rs.5910-20200 + Grade Pay of

Rs.2000/- later on increased to Rs.10300-34800+ Grade Pay of Rs.3200/- with future pay revisions and for grant of allowances/full pay along with all other emoluments etc. to the petitioners during probation period from the date of their appointment in view of judgment of this Court dated 16.02.2023 (Annexure P-13) in CWP-17064 of 2017 - Ajay Kumar Singla and others v. State of Punjab and others. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that for redressal of their grievances, petitioners have served legal notice dated 05.12.2025 (Annexure P-11) upon the respondents, which is still pending consideration. Learned counsel for the petitioners confines his prayer for deciding legal notice dated 05.12.2025 (Annexure P-11) and submits that at this stage, petitioners would be satisfied, if the said legal notice is considered and disposed of by passing a speaking order in a time-bound frame.

Mr. Siddharth Sandhu, AAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and has no objection to the innocuous prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the record of the case.

Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioners in the present petition, respondent No.3 is directed to consider and decide the claim made by the petitioners in the legal notice dated 05.12.2025 (Annexure P-11) in

accordance with law, by passing a speaking order within a period of four months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. In case, the petitioners are found entitled, necessary benefits be released within a period of one month thereafter.

The petition stands disposed of.
