Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioner No.1, who was earlier married with Sandeep Kumar, dissolved her marriage with him by Panchayati divorce, copy of which has been placed on file as Annexure P-6. She has now contracted second marriage with petitioner No.2 against the wishes of respondents No. 4 to 7, parents and other relatives of petitioner No.1. It is further submitted that both the petitioners are major. Petitioner No.2 has filed affidavit today in the Court, stating therein that he has contracted marriage with petitioner No.1 knowing all the facts regarding her first marriage and divorce. The same is taken on record. Learned counsel for the petitioners seeks no relief qua marriage of the parties and has limited his prayer for taking appropriate action in accordance with law on the representation dated 02.03.
2017 (Annexure P-5) submitted by petitioner No.1 to Senior Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala. In view of the submission of learned counsel for the petitioners, Sachin Mehta 2017.03.
CRM-M-8095-2017 -2but without expressing any opinion on the validity of marriage of petitioners, petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala to look into the representation dated 02.03.2017 (Annexure P-5) and take appropriate action in accordance with law, on receipt of copy of this order along with representation in his office. However, it is made clear that this order will have no effect on the validity of alleged marriage of the petitioners or on any other civil or criminal proceedings instituted against them.
