The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking setting aside of orders dated 04.07.2001 (Annexure P-4) and dated 23.06.2012 (Annexure P-9) to the extent their date of promotion has been changed. 2.

The petitioner No.1 was promoted as Head Constable w.e.f. 27.03.1996 and petitioner No.2 w.e.f. 26.04.1999. 3.

On 25.07.2012, following order was passed by this Court. "By way of interim relief, learned Senior counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner be directed to be sent to Intermediate School Course. Towards such submissions, learned Senior counsel makes a reference to Annexure P-1 annexed along with petition and contends that the official at Sr. No.22 Constable Inderjit Singh 221, who is junior to the petitioner is being sent for

-2Intermediate School Course which is clearly in derogation to the rights of the petitioner. Senior Counsel further refers to Annexure P-6 and states that even Ganga Ram, junior to the petitioner, has already passed Intermediate School Course.

Hearing in the present case is deferred to 02.08.2012 on the limitation question of interim direction. Meanwhile, learned State counsel shall verify as to whether Inderjit Singh and Ganga Ram are in fact juniors to the petitioner or not and also whether they have been sent to Intermediate School Course or not.

Copy of this order be given to the State Counsel dasti under the signatures of the Bench Secretary of this Court."

The aforesaid order was followed by order dated 02.08.2012 which reads as:- "On request made by the learned State counsel, adjourned to 13.9.2012.

Reply be filed in the meanwhile.

It is directed that by way of interim measure, the petitioners be deputed to the Intermediate School Course that has commenced on 1.8.2012, subject to the final decision of the present writ petition.

Copy of the order be given dasti to the counsel for the petitioners under the signatures of Special Secretary of this Court."

Learned State counsel submits that in view of judgment dated 16.12.2014 of this Court in "SI Pardeep Singh and Ors. Vs. State of Punjab and Ors." CWP-4829-2011, a combined seniority list of Punjab Armed Police and District Cadre was prepared. Accordingly, date

-3of promotion was revised. The petitioners were promoted as ASI and they have retired on attaining the age of superannuation. 6.

In view of interim orders, the petitioners were permitted to participate in promotional course and they have been promoted as per judgment of this Court in Pardeep Singh (supra). They have further retired on attaining the age of superannuation. 7.

In the backdrop, the instant petition stands disposed of. 8.
