FATEH DEEP SINGH, J. (Oral) The matter has been taken up through video-conferencing on account of outbreak of pandemic COVID19. The petitioner has come up in this civil writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a prayer by way of writ of mandamus by directing respondents to compute the contract period from 16.05.1987 to 16.11.2012 followed by regular service upto 30.11.2019 to be treated as qualifying service for computing pension and pensionary benefits and to release the arrears of pension and pensionary benefits alongwith interest @ 24% per annum to the petitioner, for which,

CWP 14934 of 2021 (O&M) a legal notice dated 16.11.2020 (Annexure P-9) has also been served upon the respondent authorities.

At the asking of the Court Ms. Simran Grewal, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents. Let copy of the paper book be supplied to her.

In the light of oral submissions of the petitioner side the directions are issued to the respondent authorities to duly consider the legal notice dated 16.11.2020 (Annexure P-9) as representation of the petitioner and decide the same in accordance with law by passing a speaking order, preferably, within a period of one month from the date of passing of this order.
