In spite of the case having been called twice over, there is no appearance on behalf of the petitioners.
The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for issuance of a direction to the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners as they apprehend danger to the same on account of the fact that they had got married against the wishes of private respondents no. 4 to 6 and other relatives and friends of petitioner no. 1. At the very outset, learned State counsel, on instructions from SI Kanwar Singh, submits that the police have recorded the statements of both the petitioners, as also the private respondents, who have stated before them that the matter between them has been amicably settled and therefore, Monika 2017.03.20 16:48 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
Crl. Misc. No. M-8288 of 2017 they apprehend no further threat to their life and liberty. As noticed earlier, counsel for the petitioners is not present, and therefore, the above statement made by learned State counsel, is not controverted.
In view of the above, the present petition has been rendered infructuous.
