1 2 )  "    is praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing the order dated 24.08.2018 (Annexure P-5) passed by respondent No.4 vide which the prayer for fixation of pay-scale of petitioner as Group-B employee has been rejected.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that as the petitioner was working on the post of Security Supervisor before his retirement, which falls under the category of Group-B post, as such, he is entitled for grant of pay-scale of Rs.10300-34800 + Grade Pay Rs.3800/-.

A perusal of the written statement dated 18.08.2022 filed on behalf of respondents No.2 to 4, would show that in para 5 of reply -1-

on merits, it is admitted by the respondent-University that the post of Security Supervisor is a Group-B post. As per the respondentUniversity, the initial pay-scale of Group-B post starts from initial payscale of Rs.5910-20200 + Grade Pay Rs.1900/- to pay-scale of Rs.10300-34800 + Grade Pay Rs.5000/-. However, a perusal of para 5 of reply on merits does not mention as to on what basis the initial payscale of Group-B post from Rs.5910-20200 + Grade Pay Rs.1900/- can be increased to pay-scale of Rs.10300-34800 + Grade Pay Rs.5000/-. 4.

In light of abovesaid para 5 of reply on merits of written statement filed on behalf of respondents No.2 to 4, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he may be permitted to file a representation before the respondent-University in regard to why the petitioner is not held entitled for grant of higher pay-scale of Rs.10300-34800 + Grade Pay Rs.5000/- and a direction may be issued to the respondentUniversity to decide the same in a time-bound manner. 5.

Learned counsel for the respondent-University does not oppose the prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner. 6.
