Through the instant civil writ petition, the petitioners seek quashing of selection and appointment of respondent Nos. 5 to 38 as Constable in District Police Cadre, Patiala.
It is contended that in pursuance to the advertisement (Annexure P-1) inviting applications for the posts of Constables (Female) in District Police cadre, Patiala, the petitioners applied for the same. The petitioners qualified the physical efficiency test and were allowed to participate in the interview. However, the names of the petitioners did not figure in the final merit list. Later on, the petitioners came to know that respondent Nos. 5, 6, 13 and 27 had not qualified the physical test but they were allowed to appear in the interview and were selected. It is further contended that the copy of the video clip was sought by the petitioner under the RTI from the respondents but the same was not supplied to them.

taken by the petitioners that respondent Nos. 5, 6, 13 and 27 had not passed the physical test are wrong. Respondent Nos. 5, 6, 13 and 27 appeared in physical test on 13-14 May, 2011 and had duly passed the physical test. On the request made by the petitioners, two DVD/CD were supplied to them. The petitioners again requested to supply DVD under RTI Act regarding physical test of respondent Nos. 5, 6, 13 and 27 however, due to technical fault in the recovery of data from the hard disc., the respondents were unable to supply the information. The Hard Disc. containing data has been sent to Forensic Science Laboratory, Gandhinagar (Gujarat) for retrieving the data. Heard.
A report from Forensic Science Laboratory, Hyderabad, has been received today in the Court in a sealed cover. The same has been opened in the open Court and is taken on record as Mark-A. As per the report, the data could not be retrieved. However, in pursuance to order dated 21.10.2016 passed by this Court, record pertaining to the petitioners as well as respondent Nos. 5, 6, 13 and 27 has been produced in the Court today. This Court has perused the same. The record clearly shows that respondent Nos. 5, 6, 13 and 27 had appeared in the physical test and had qualified the same. In view of this, no case for interference is made out.
Dismissed.
