**** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI , J. (ORAL) In the present writ petition, the claim of the petitioner is for the grant of interest on the arrears, which have been released to him in pursuance to the order dated 25.07.2016 passed by this Court in CWP No.11616 of 2014.
Counsel for the petitioner argues that the benefit in pursuance of the judgment dated 25.07.2016 passed in CWP No.11616 of 2014 was to be released within a period of three months, but actually the benefits were released to the petitioner in October, 2017, which is approximately a year after the timeline fixed by this Court for the release of the arrears. Counsel further states that for the said period of one year, the petitioner is entitled for interest on those payments. CWP-14721-2019 -2Counsel for the petitioner states that for the relief, which has been sought in the present writ petition, petitioner has submitted a representation dated 05.04.2019 (Annexure P-3) to the respondents, which is still pending consideration with the respondents and the petitioner will be satisfied, at this stage, in case a time bound direction is issued to the respondents to decide the said representation. In view of the request made, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioner, the respondents are directed to decide the representation dated 05.04.2019 (Annexure P-3) by passing a speaking order within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. In case after the decision, it is found that the petitioner is entitled for any monetary benefit, the same shall also be released to him within a period of next three months.
Present writ petition stands disposed of.
