The petitioner prays for grant of regular bail pending trial in a criminal case arising from FIR No. 69, dated 12.12.2016, registered under Section 302, 301 and 34 IPC, at Police Station GRP, Chandigarh. As per the case of the prosecution, Sanjay Yadav, who used to ply auto-rickshaw for earning his livelihood, was done to death. At the outset, it must be noticed that out of 25 witnesses proposed to be examined by the prosecution, 18 have already been examined whereas the examination of four have been given up and only three prosecution witnesses remain to be examined.

Keeping in view the fact that the trial is at an advance stage, this Court does not consider it appropriate to grant regular bail to the petitioner, at this stage. However, the learned trial Court is requested to make sincere endeavours, to conclude the trial within a period of four months.
