Present petition has been filed under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, for quashing of FIR No.0206 dated 19.09.2023 (Annexure P-1) registered under Sections 465, 471, 177 IPC and Section 82 of Registration Act, 1908 at Police Station City Moga, District Moga.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that in the present matter, FIR has been registered in the year 2023, however, a cancellation report has been filed and same was rejected by learned Illaqa Magistrate vide order dated 22.12.2025 and was ordered for further investigation in the matter. Learned counsel limited his prayer to the extent that the investigation in the present matter be completed expeditiously as the same is lingering on GEETA RANI 2026.05.04 18:47 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment Punjab & Haryana High Court at Chandigarh

CRWP-4912-2026 (O&M) ( 2 ) for the last three years and the present petitioner wants to go abroad for his bright future.

Mr. Anup Singh, AAG, Punjab, accepted notice on behalf of respondent-State and contended that further investigation is pending and the investigating agency will conclude the investigation expeditiously. 5.

Taking into consideration the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner and contention raised by learned State counsel, the present petition is disposed of and investigating agency i.e. Senior Superintendent of Police, District Moga, is directed to make endeavour for completion of the investigation preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
