***** GURVINDER SINGH GILL, J . (Oral) Petitioner-Mandeep Kaur has filed this petition seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of habeas corpus so as to recover the alleged detenue Kiranjyoti (aged 16 years and 9 months), stated to be illegal confinement of respondents No.4 to 8.

At the time of issuance of notice of motion on 6.8.2021, this Court had directed respondent No.3-SHO Police Station Lopoke, District Amritsar, to make necessary inquiries for the purpose of getting the daughter of petitioner recovered and in case she is found to be illegally detained, then to set her free immediately.

Reply has been filed on behalf of the State.

- 2 - CRWP-7401-2021 (O&M) As per the said reply, statement of Kiranjyoti has been recorded in terms of Section 164 Cr.P.C. wherein she categorically stated that members of her family were troubling her and had been extending threats to eliminate her and that it was on her own accord that she joined the company of respondent No.4.

There is no representation on behalf of the petitioner. In view of the aforestated position wherein the petitioner's daughter has categorically stated that she is not illegally confined and is residing with respondent No.4 on her own accord, no further directions are required to be issued.
