Petitioner has filed this petition under Section 439 Cr.P.C. for grant of regular bail in case FIR No.96 dated 18.05.2017 under Sections 307, 326, 324, 341, 148 and 149 IPC, registered at Police Station City, Tarn Taran.

Notice of motion.

Mr.Sidakmeet Singh Sandhu, AAG, Punjab, has put in appearance on behalf of the respondent-State and contested the petition. I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned State counsel and have gone through the record. From the record, I find that present petitioner was earlier granted bail under Section 167(2) Cr.P.C. but he absented from the proceedings in October 2017. Thereafter, petitioner was declared VINEET GULATI 2019.07.05 15:55 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh proclaimed offender and he was arrested in June 2018, and since then, the

CRM No.M-24930 of 2019 -2petitioner is in custody.

Keeping in view the above facts and circumstances of the present case and in view of the fact that petitioner is in custody for more than one year and challan has not been presented so far, as contended by learned State counsel, the present petition is allowed and the petitioner is ordered to be released on bail subject to his furnishing personal/surety bonds in the sum of `1,00,000/- with two sureties in the like amount to the satisfaction of the trial Court/Duty Magistrate.
