Through the instant writ petition, the petitioners challenge the order dated 22.12.2021 passed by the Maintenance Tribunal, whereby the application filed by the respondent No.1 under Section 23 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 (hereinafter referred to as the "Act of 2007") was allowed and transfer deeds in question were set aside. Further, the petitioners challenge the order dated 10.04.2024 passed by the Appellate Tribunal, whereby the statutory appeal filed by the petitioners under Section 16 of the Act of 2007 was dismissed. 2.
During the pendency of the instant writ petition, the parties made efforts to resolve their dispute amicably, which efforts have since fructified. Accordingly, on the previous date of hearing, i.e. 06.04.2026, this Court passed the following order:- "1. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that, although the matter appears to have been amicably settled between the parties, DEVINDER YADAV 2026.04.10 09:43 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment
CWP-12657-2024 inasmuch as respondent No.1 (father) has started residing with petitioner No.1 (son), she seeks an adjournment to have appropriate instructions as to whether the petitioners still wish to pursue the instant writ petition or whether a settlement has been arrived at with regard to the quashing of the impugned order.
2. List, as prayed for, on 09.04.2026 in the urgent list.
3. On the next date of hearing, petitioner No.1 and respondent No.1 shall cause appearance before this Court, either physically or through virtual mode.
4. It is made clear that, on the next date of hearing, no request for adjournment would be entertained on behalf of either side, except for strong and compelling reasons."

In compliance with the order (supra), petitioner No.1- Amrit Pal and respondent No.1- Tarsem Chand are present before this Court today and have been duly identified by their respective counsel. Upon a specific query, respondent No.1-Tarsem Chand has stated that he has no objection to the impugned orders being set aside, in view of the amicable settlement arrived at between the parties, and has further submitted that he is presently residing with his son and his family (petitioners). The petitioner No.1 has also assured this Court that he shall duly maintain his father/respondent No.1 and provide for his basic needs and care. 4.
In view of the above and the settlement arrived at between the parties, the impugned orders are hereby set aside. The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly.
