Petitioner has sought a direction to respondents no. 2 to 4 to restrain the trucks registered in other States for operating in State of Punjab without authority. At the outset, Mr. Sethi, learned State counsel submits that procedure as per law is being followed. As and when a truck bearing a registration of a State other than Punjab is allowed to ply, checks are conducted to ascertain whether it has clearance from the appropriate authority to run within the State. This is done in view of section 66 read with section 88 of the Motor Vehicles Act.

In view of statement made by learned State counsel, no further direction is necessary.
