In the present petition, the petitioners are praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to resume/release the provisional pension of the petitioners along with arrears and interest, which has been withheld since October, 2025, without any notice or communication indicating the basis for such withholding. 2.
Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, on instructions from the petitioners, submits that at this stage, he will be satisfied if a direction is given to respondent No.2 to treat the present writ petition as representation and decide the same, in a time bound manner. 3.

Mr. Rohit Ahuja, learned Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and does not oppose the prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners.

In view of the above and without commenting upon the merits of the case, the present petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to treat the present writ petition as representation and consider and decide the same, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order, in accordance with law. In case, the claim of the petitioners is rejected by respondent No.2, a speaking order shall be passed and a copy thereof shall be supplied to the petitioners. 6.
