Heard.

Learned State counsel submits that on the petition filed by Munni Devi, police registered FIR No. 311 dated 19.08.2014 at Police Station City Jagraon. Thereafter, Sunil Kumar against whom allegations were levelled was joined in investigation but nothing incriminating was found against him and he was discharged. Thereafter all efforts to trace Munish Kumar have been made by posting pamphlets at several places, making announcements through Gurudwara sound systems, in local newspapers, TV channels etc. but whereabouts of Munish Kumar could not be located. Status report regarding steps taken by the police from time to time has been filed in this Court. The matter is still being inquired and no purpose would be served by keeping this petition pending. CRWP No. 1073 of 2014 -2any information is received about the missing child, the police will take further action accordingly.

Keeping in view status reports filed by the State from time to time, I do not find any reason to keep this petition pending any more. This petition is disposed of with direction to police authorities to take all steps to locate Munish Kumar son of the petitioner, and if he is not found, to proceed further to find the culprit, if any, and take appropriate action against him in FIR registered in this case.
