This is a criminal writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of habeas corpus for releasing the minor son of the petitioner, namely, Harmandeep Singh, aged about 21⁄2 years.

In the petition, it has repeatedly been stated that the son was snatched by the father on 31.01.2018 i.e. the date when he was born. On being asked as to why the petitioner had chosen to keep quiet since 31.01.2018, learned counsel for the petitioner has stated that it is a typographical error that the date has wrongly been mentioned as 31.01.2018 and that the child was snatched away from the mother in August, 2020. Learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw the present petition with liberty to file afresh with better particulars.
