All the three petitioners, aged 68 years, have filed present writ petition for issuance of the direction to the respondents (Panjab University), to release the conceded benefit of revised gratuity and leave encashment to its teachers, who retired after 01.01.2016. 2.

In fact, claim of the petitioners has already been admitted and adopted by the Panjab University, by passing the decision in its Senate Meeting dated 27.03.2022 (Annexure P-3), and same has already been circulated to its affiliated colleges for implementation. 3.

Notice of motion.

Mr. Akshay Kumar Goel, Advocate, who is present in the Court, on advance notice, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents - Panjab University.

At this stage, counsel for the petitioners submits that for the said relief, already one joint legal notice dated 18.12.2023 (Annexure LAVISHA 2024.05.29 19:54 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh

CWP-12857-2024 -2P-8) has been served upon the respondents, and the petitioners would be duly satisfied at this stage, if the direction is issued to the respondents to decide the claim raised therein, within some time bound manner. 6.

To the plea submitted by counsel for the petitioners, there is no serious objection raised by counsel for the respondents - Panjab University.

This Court has heard counsel for the petitioners, regarding the claim raised through present writ petition as well as legal notice dated 18.12.2023 (Annexure P-8) before the respondents, and deems it appropriate to dispose of the present writ petition, by issuing a direction to the respondents to decide the said joint legal notice dated 18.12.2023 (Annexure P-8), within a period of 3 months from today, by passing a speaking and well-reasoned order, after affording opportunity of hearing to the petitioners.

Needless to say that finally, if the claim of the petitioners is found to be genuine, as per law, same would be extended to them, without any unnecessary delay, and the final order passed qua the joint legal notice of the petitioners dated 18.12.2023 (Annexure P-8), would be duly informed to all the petitioners, also.

With the reasons recorded here above, present writ petition stands disposed of.
