The present writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of certiorari for quashing charge sheet dated 11.08.2020 and its consequential proceedings being voidab-initio patently illegal, arbitrary and unjust against the Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority Employees (Punishment and Appeal) Regulations, 1997 as the same has been issued to the petitioner after six and half years of his retirement.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits that, in fact after the retirement of the petitioner departmental proceedings could not have been continued as there is no provision in the Regulations MOHIT 2025.05.05 12:36 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment
CWP-13932-2020 -2which permits the respondents to continue with the departmental proceedings.

Ms. Monika Chhibber Sharma, Advocate appearing for respondent No.2-PUDA submits, on instructions and also in view of the communication received by her, that respondent No.2 has decided to drop the charge sheet with due liberty to avail alternative remedies, if any, in accordance with law.

In view of the above, learned counsel for the petitioners wishes to withdraw the present petition.

Dismissed as withdrawn.
