**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL , J. (ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. The petitioner seeks regular bail in FIR No. 45 dated 11.7.2020 under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 IPC and later on added Section 120-B IPC registered at Police Station Bajakhana, District Faridkot. Custody certificate by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent, Central Jail, Ferozepur as well as status report by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police (D), District Faridkot, filed through e-mail, are taken on record.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the allegation levelled by complainant Paramjeet Singh against the petitioner is that he had prepared a forged registration certificate by using complainant's documents. He further submits that the petitioner was working as a finance agent and the complainant had approached him for finance on the truck bearing No. PB-13-BE-9396 and sent the registration certificate as well as his GURPREET SINGH 2020.12.03 15:37 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chadigarh

CRM-M No. 27056 of 2020 -2Aadhar Card and other documents to the petitioner. Thereafter the complainant sold the said truck to one Ranjit Singh and the same was duly registered in the name of Ranjit Singh. He further submits that the petitioner has been in custody since 13.7.2019 and the challan has already been presented.

Learned State counsel has pointed out that the petitioner had forged the registration certificate by using the documents of the complainant and after affixing the forged number on the vehicle, sold the same to Ranjit Singh. He further submits that on the disclosure statement of the petitioner, recovery has also been effected. However, he has not disputed the fact that challan has been presented and the petitioner has been in custody for the last 04 months and 13 days and there is no other case registered or pending against him.

In the present case, challan has since been presented. As per the custody certificate, the petitioner has been in custody for the last 04 months and 13 days and there is no other case pending or registered against him. The trial will take time to conclude because of Covid-19 pandemic. No useful purpose would be served by keeping the petitioner behind the bars. Without commenting anything on the merits of the case, the petition is allowed and the petitioner is ordered to be released on bail on his furnishing bail/surety bonds to the satisfaction of the trial Court/Duty Magistrate.
