Prayer in this writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari, for quashing the charge-sheet dated 24.01.2022 (Annexure P-4) and order dated 21.07.2025 (Annexure P-8) passed by respondent No.1. Further a writ of mandamus has been sought, directing the respondents to release the amount of gratuity and regular pension to the petitioner.

At the outset, learned counsel for the respondents submits that the directions issued by this Court in CWP-24972-2025 titled as Sarabjit Singh vs Punjab Mandi Board and others (Annexure P-9) shall be complied with and the disciplinary proceedings against the petitioner shall be concluded within a period of two weeks from today. In response, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he is satisfied with the statement made by learned counsel for the respondents and prays that the instant petition may be disposed of accordingly.

In view of the statement made by learned counsel for the respondents, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to conclude the disciplinary proceedings within a period of two weeks from today, in accordance with law.

It is made clear that in case the respondents deviate from the statement made before this Court, the petitioner shall be at liberty to file an appropriate application under Article 215 of the Constitution of India for initiation of contempt proceedings.
