The petitioner has filed the present petition under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure with a prayer to grant interim bail to the petitioner for a period of four weeks to look after his wife and to provide her medical treatment.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner was arrested in the present case on 18.11.2022 and is in custody since then. He further contends that the wife of the petitioner had delivered a child on 18.07.2022. Thereafter, she met with an accident and she has been advised to undergo replacement of the right leg knee. Learned counsel has also referred to the medical record (Annexure P-2) in this regard. 3.
Pursuant to the notice, a short reply by way of an affidavit of the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Special Task Force, Ludhiana Range, Ludhiana has been filed on behalf of the respondent-State and the same is taken on record.
