Mr. Prateek Sodhi, Advocate for the petitioner. **** ANUPINDER SINGH GREWAL, J. (ORAL) The petitioner is seeking quashing of the order dated 24.03.2022 (Annexure P/1) passed by respondent No.2, ordering the retirement of the petitioner w.e.f. 31.05.2022.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner is physically challenged and therefore, he is entitled to the extension in service till the age of 60 years. He further contends that the case of the petitioner has been erroneously rejected by the impugned order on the ground that there is a discrepancy in the certificate with regard to the age of the petitioner. The petitioner has now obtained a fresh disability certificate and has communicated the same to the respondents but the case of the petitioner has not been considered in the light of the fresh certificate. Issue notice to the respondents.

At the asking of the Court, Ms. Kanica Sachdeva, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

Heard.

The petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider the case of the petitioner for extension in service after considering the fresh certificate which has been submitted by the petitioner and pass an order within a period of 10 days from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
