(Oral) It is stated that petitioner Ramandeep Singh, lodged in Maximum Security Jail, Nabha, is pursuing MA (Religious Studies) Course Semester-II with Punjabi University, Patiala and he is required to attend Personal Contact Programme (PCP) in that regard scheduled to be held from 19.2.2018 to 23.2.2018 from 10.00 A.M. to 3.00 P.M. in Room No. S-6, Distance Education Department, Punjabi University. Copy of schedule in that regard has been attached. It is contended that on earlier occasions, the Court of Sessions at Patiala, had been allowing the petitioner to attend the Personal Contact Programme. CRM-M No. 7303 of 2018 -2Patiala, vide order dated 16.2.2018 has declined the request. Copies of orders have been attached in that regard.

Notice of motion.

At the asking of the Court, Mr. Ramandeep Singh Sandhu, Senior DAG, Punjab, has accepted notice on behalf of the State. Copy of paper book supplied.

Heard.

The petition is accepted and Superintendent, Maximum Security Jail, Nabha is directed to make necessary arrangements to take the petitioner to the venue of the Personal Contact Programme as per schedule, reaching there at before 10.00 A.M. and then to bring him back to the jail after 3.00 P.M. He is to ensure that necessary security arrangements are made so that no attempt is made by the petitioner to escape.

A copy of this order be given to the petitioner under signatures of the Bench Secretary.
