"#$ The petitioner has filed this petition under Section 439 of Cr.P.C. for grant of regular bail in case FIR No. 240 dated 13.06.2018 registered under Sections 21 and 22 of NDPS Act, at Police Station City Barnala, District Barnala.

Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner is a lady having three minor children and her husband is suffering from psychological disorder. The alleged recovery was of 100 strips of intoxicant tablets of Tramadol Hydrochloride (10 tablets in each) and average weight of MANGAL SINGH 2020.09.17 05:32 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

 


 
 each tablet came to be 406.42 mg. The petitioner has been in custody since 13.06.2018.

On the instructions from ASI Hakam Singh, learned State counsel has not disputed the fact regarding the custody period of the petitioner. He further states that out of 13 prosecution witnesses, only 10 witnesses have been examined so far.

I have heard the learned counsel for the parties. The petitioner is a lady having three minor children. She has been in custody since 13.06.2018. Though the case is at the stage of evidence, yet the trial will take time to conclude, especially due to prevailing situation of Covid-19. Thus, no useful purpose would be served by keeping the petitioner behind the bars.
