The instant petition in the nature of habeas corpus has been filed by petitioner Kamaldeep Kaur to set free detenue Jatinder Singh from the illegal custody of private respondents. Notice of motion was issued and learned State counsel was directed to get the matter inquired through concerned SHO and to furnish the report.

Today, reply by way of affidavit of Ganga Singh, Inspector/SHO, Police Station Noormahal, Jalandhar (Rural), has been filed. Same is taken on record. Copy has been supplied. Heard.

Detenue Jatinder Singh, is present in person in the Court. On being questioned by this Court to its satisfaction, detenue Jatinder Singh has stated that he is residing with his friend namely Sukhjinder Singh at his own wish and there is no threat to his life. He further states that respondent No.4 Mamta is his real sister and respondent No.5 Swarana Singh is his real uncle. In view of above statement of detenue Jatinder Singh, no further action is required to be taken by this Court in this matter and, therefore, the instant petition is dismissed.
