1. Petitioner seeks issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect her life and liberty as she apprehends threat to the same at the hands of private respondents No.4 to 7.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was previously married to Himanshu son of Ishwar Singh. Learned counsel submits that however, on account of some differences, the petitioner and her husband got their marriage dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent vide decree dated 27.2.2023 passed by the Family Court, Sonipat. 3. It has been submitted that respondents No.4 to 7 who are the parents and brothers of the petitioner are now forcing her to marry against her wishes and have been threatening to cause harm to her. Learned counsel has further submitted that although she had submitted a representation to Commissioner of Police, Sonipat, but to no avail.

4. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, but without commenting anything as regards the merits of the assertions made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2Commissioner of Police, Sonipat, to get the representation dated 13.05.2023 (Annexure P-3) examined qua the limited extent of the alleged threat perception of the petitioner in accordance with law. In case, it is found that there is genuine threat to life and liberty of the petitioner, then necessary steps warranted under law be taken thereupon.

5. A copy of this order along with copy of representation dated 13.05.2023 (Annexure P-3) be sent to respondent No.2-Commissioner of Police, Sonipat, for necessary compliance.
